What is the Importance of the Lineweaver-Burk Plot?
The Lineweaver-Burk plot is a graphical representation of the Michaelis-Menten equation in a double reciprocal form. It is used to determine enzyme kinetic parameters such as Vmax and Km. By plotting 1/[V] against 1/[S], where [V] is the reaction rate and [S] is the substrate concentration, one can easily extract these values from the intercepts and slopes of the resulting straight line.
