Despite its advantages, EXAFS has some limitations:
Complex data analysis: The interpretation of EXAFS data requires sophisticated analysis and fitting procedures. Limited range: EXAFS provides information about the local structure within a few angstroms around the absorbing atom, but not about long-range order. Requirement for synchrotron radiation: High-quality EXAFS measurements typically require access to synchrotron facilities, which may not be readily available.
