Semi dry scrubbers are air pollution control devices used to remove acid gases, such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), and other acidic pollutants from industrial flue gases. Unlike wet scrubbers, which use a liquid to capture pollutants, semi dry scrubbers utilize a slurry of alkaline reagent that reacts with the acid gases, forming a dry byproduct that is easier to handle and dispose of.
