What Role Does Concentration Play in Enzyme Catalysis?
In enzyme catalysis, the concentration of both the enzyme and the substrate is crucial. The enzyme activity increases with an increase in substrate concentration until it reaches a saturation point. Beyond this point, any further increase in substrate concentration does not affect the reaction rate, as the enzyme molecules are fully occupied.
