What is the Role of Hydrogen in Hydrodesulfurization?
Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) is a catalytic chemical process used to remove sulfur from natural gas and from refined petroleum products such as gasoline or diesel fuel. Hydrogen is used to convert sulfur compounds into hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which can be easily separated from the hydrocarbon stream.
