Ammonia slip refers to the emission of unreacted ammonia (NH3) from a catalytic process, typically observed in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems used for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) in industrial exhaust gases. Ammonia is introduced into the system to react with NOx and form nitrogen and water. However, when the reaction is incomplete, excess ammonia can be emitted, leading to environmental and operational issues.
