What are the Types of Catalysts Used in Green Energy?
There are several types of catalysts employed in green energy applications. Heterogeneous catalysts, which exist in a different phase than the reactants, are commonly used in industrial processes such as hydrogenation and oxidation. Homogeneous catalysts, which are in the same phase as the reactants, are often used in processes like carbon capture and methanol synthesis. Additionally, biocatalysts, such as enzymes, are gaining attention for their ability to catalyze reactions at mild conditions, thus reducing energy consumption.
