While XRF is a powerful tool, it does have some limitations:
Elemental Interference: Overlapping peaks from different elements can complicate analysis. Surface Sensitivity: Primarily analyzes the surface layer, which may not represent the bulk composition. Matrix Effects: The presence of certain elements can affect the accuracy of the analysis of other elements. Limited Detection of Light Elements: Less effective for elements with atomic numbers lower than 11 (sodium).
