Stability: Enzymes and other biological catalysts can be sensitive to changes in temperature, pH, and other environmental conditions. Cost: The production and purification of enzymes can be expensive, although advances in biotechnology are helping to reduce costs. Scalability: Scaling up bio-based processes from the laboratory to industrial scale can be challenging.
