How is Shear Rate Controlled in Catalytic Reactors?
Shear rate can be controlled by adjusting the flow conditions within the reactor. In stirred tank reactors, this can be done by varying the impeller speed. In tubular reactors, the flow rate of the fluid can be modified to achieve the desired shear rate. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is often used to model and optimize shear rates in complex reactor geometries.
