How Does Enzyme Concentration Affect Reaction Rate?
The reaction rate of an enzyme-catalyzed reaction is generally proportional to the enzyme concentration when substrate levels are abundant. This is because more enzyme molecules are available to bind with substrate molecules, forming more enzyme-substrate complexes and subsequently producing more product. However, beyond a certain point, increasing enzyme concentration has little effect on the reaction rate due to substrate limitation.
