Many electronic devices contain precious and rare earth metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. Traditional methods of metal recovery from WEEE can be inefficient and environmentally damaging. Catalytic processes, such as hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy, offer improved efficiency and selectivity, enabling the extraction of these metals with lower environmental impact.
