TEM provides even more detailed images than SEM, including information about the internal structure of catalysts at the atomic level. This technique can be used to study the dispersion of active sites, the presence of defects, and the interaction of the catalyst with reactants. TEM is particularly useful for understanding the mechanisms of heterogeneous catalysis.
