What Materials are Commonly Used as Solid Electrolytes?
Several materials are commonly used as solid electrolytes, each with its specific advantages and limitations. Ceramic electrolytes like yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) are widely used in high-temperature applications due to their excellent ionic conductivity and thermal stability.
