What Challenges Exist in Mimicking Fe-SOD's Activity?
One major challenge in mimicking Fe-SOD's activity is achieving the same level of specificity and efficiency as the natural enzyme. Synthetic catalysts must also be stable under the conditions in which they are used and must not produce harmful by-products. Ongoing research aims to address these challenges through advanced material design and a deeper understanding of enzyme catalysis.
