One of the main challenges TTOs face is the time-consuming and costly process of patenting and commercializing new technologies. Additionally, the highly specialized nature of catalysis means that TTO staff must have a deep understanding of the field to effectively manage the transfer process. Moreover, aligning the goals and expectations of academic researchers with those of industry partners can be complex and requires careful negotiation.
