There are primarily two types of catalytic converters:
Two-way Catalytic Converters: These were used in early vehicle models and only oxidize CO and HC. Three-way Catalytic Converters: These are used in most modern vehicles and are capable of oxidizing CO and HC, and reducing NOx simultaneously.
