What are the Main Legislative Bodies Governing Catalysis?
Several legislative bodies govern the field of catalysis. In the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plays a significant role in regulating emissions from industrial catalytic processes. The European Union has the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), which enforces regulations such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals). Internationally, the United Nations also provides guidelines and treaties that member countries must adhere to, such as the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
