Despite its advantages, Raman spectroscopy has certain limitations:
Low sensitivity: Raman scattering is inherently weak, which can make it challenging to detect low concentrations of species. Fluorescence interference: Fluorescent background from the sample can overwhelm the Raman signal. Sample heating: High-intensity laser can cause local heating, affecting the sample. Instrumentation cost: High-resolution Raman spectrometers can be expensive.
