Despite its advantages, benchtop NMR has some limitations:
Lower Sensitivity: Due to the lower magnetic field strength, benchtop NMR has reduced sensitivity and resolution compared to high-field NMR. Limited Nuclei: It is typically limited to the detection of common nuclei such as ¹H and ¹³C, whereas high-field NMR can detect a wider range of nuclei. Complex Mixtures: Analyzing complex mixtures with overlapping signals can be challenging due to the lower resolution.
