Despite its advantages, ammonia TPD has some limitations:
Non-Specificity: Ammonia can adsorb on both Brønsted and Lewis acid sites, making it challenging to distinguish between them without additional techniques. Desorption Interference: Other species desorbing at similar temperatures can interfere with the ammonia signal. Surface Saturation: High ammonia concentrations can lead to surface saturation, complicating the interpretation of results.
