Coke Formation: The formation of carbonaceous deposits (coke) on the catalyst surface can deactivate the catalyst over time, reducing its efficiency. Selectivity Control: Achieving high selectivity towards specific hydrocarbons can be challenging due to the complex nature of the reactions involved. Thermal Stability: Catalysts need to maintain their structural integrity and activity at high temperatures, which is a demanding requirement.
