Despite its advantages, catalysis in medical research faces several challenges. One major issue is the stability of catalysts, especially enzymatic ones, under physiological conditions. Additionally, the scalability of catalytic processes from laboratory to industrial scale can be problematic. There is also the challenge of ensuring that catalytic processes do not produce toxic by-products that could adversely affect patients.
