allergenicity

How is Allergenicity Tested?

Allergenicity testing involves a combination of in vitro and in vivo methods. In vitro tests, such as the Direct Peptide Reactivity Assay (DPRA) and human Cell Line Activation Test (h-CLAT), are used to evaluate the potential of a substance to cause allergic reactions by examining its interaction with proteins and cells. In vivo tests, such as the Local Lymph Node Assay (LLNA), involve exposing test animals to the substance and observing any allergic responses.
