P2G primarily involves two main steps: electrolysis and methanation. In the first step, water is split into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) using electricity through a process called electrolysis. The hydrogen produced can then be used directly or subjected to methanation, where it reacts with carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce methane (CH4) and water.
