Despite its advantages, ICP-MS has some limitations:
Matrix Effects: Complex sample matrices can interfere with ionization and detection, requiring careful sample preparation and matrix matching. High Cost: The equipment and operation costs are high, which may be prohibitive for some laboratories. Interferences: Isobaric and polyatomic interferences can affect accuracy, although these can be mitigated using collision/reaction cell technology.
